Invitation to help shape mental health resources for health professionals

Here at Inspire (the organisation behind ReachOut Pro and ReachOut.com) we are conducting research to better understand the preferences and needs of people who work with young people (14 - 25 years of age) in relation to mental health and wellbeing.

Specifically, the research aims to:

  • Understand the needs of health professionals in relation to supporting young people's mental health and wellbeing

  • Understand where health workers are currently getting the information or professional development they need to support young people's mental health and wellbeing

  • Understand how health professionals working with young people are using these services and resources

  • Learn more about the perceived gaps in existing service provision and resources available, and how these services and resources can be made more accessible and useful for this professional group

  • Learn more about other kinds of resources, services and materials that these groups would find most useful in supporting young people's mental health and well-being

The research will be used by the Inspire Foundation to tailor its services to more effectively meet the needs of the professional groups list above.

We are currently inviting health workers to participate in a 2 hour focus group discussion (of up to 6 participants) from 9am - 11am on Tuesday the 5th of June 2012 at The Brain and Mind Research Institute, 100 Mallett Street Camperdown NSW. The Inspire Foundation has contracted Pamodzi Consulting to undertake this research. Pamodzi consultant Clare Doube will be facilitating the focus group discussion.

If you are interested and available to participate, please reply to Michelle Besley by Friday the 1st of June 2012 on email: m.besley@gmail.com and provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Professional Group
  • Email
  • Phone number

If you indicate a willingness to participate in the focus group, Pamodzi will contact you directly to confirm your attendance, and give you further information about the meeting closer to the date.
